Chaka Khan

Chaka Khan, also popularly known as the Queen of Funk, is a popular American recording artist. Through her more than fifty-year career the singer has won a total 10 Grammys. Also, she has been named the 65th most successful dancer of all time according to Billboard magazine. Her mother introduced her to jazz while she was just a young girl. At the beginning of her career, she performed with various bands. She later joined the group Rufus. In the year 2000 the singer released her first album, along with the group. One year later they won their very first Grammy. A few years later she made her debut an independent artist and the album was self-titled. After that, she released numerous albums throughout the years, including 'Echoes for an Era The Woman I Am' and "Funk This". Beyond her contributions to music, she has also been recognized as a charitable persona. Chaka Khan Foundation, which she founded to aid those with autism, including children and adults as well as families with a poor background. Khan can also be seen as an actress. She portrayed her character Sister Carrie, the lead role in the musical 'Mama, I Want To Sing'. Chaka Chaka Chaka
